New Hampshire and FIU's online nursing programs
Florida International University (FIU) says its licensure programs satisfy Florida and has made no finding for New Hampshire. The state's Board of Nursing, run through the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification (OPLC), keeps a paperwork trail for visiting prelicensure students while describing post-licensure programs as outside its regulation. Whichever way that falls for you, the deciding answer still comes from FIU.

What OPLC regulates and what it leaves alone
New Hampshire's rule for visiting prelicensure programs is Nur 602.15(j). A school based elsewhere that uses New Hampshire facilities has to register with the Board ahead of time and give six weeks' warning of each placement. The filings come in three parts: a yearly Form A petition, a Part B form for every rotation and a Clinical Preceptor Agreement for every preceptor. Faculty from outside the state who supervise directly must meet New Hampshire's faculty standards and hold a clean New Hampshire license.
OPLC's education page puts RN-BSN and RN-MSN programs on the other side of the line, as programs the Board does not regulate. As an already licensed RN in an NP track you sit closer to that group, but the page never names graduate NP programs outright, so ask the Board how it classifies FIU's. Check the rule's current status while you are at it, because the copy online shows an expiration date.
Get the Board's reading of your program in writing; a guess about which list you fall on is the easy mistake here.
Full practice, larger systems and the state lines nearby
AANP lists New Hampshire as full practice. Larger names include Concord Hospital Health System, Dartmouth Health and its Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Catholic Medical Center, which belongs to HCA Healthcare, and two founding members of SolutionHealth, Elliot Health System and Southern New Hampshire Health. The SolutionHealth boards proposed dissolving that partnership in July 2025, so confirm a site's current legal name before it goes on FIU paperwork.
Manchester-Nashua is the state's own metro and Concord a smaller micropolitan area, while part of the state falls inside the Boston-Cambridge-Newton metro. Living near the border makes a Massachusetts or Maine clinic tempting, but that clinic answers to its own state's board, and FIU's position would need checking there too; see our Maine guide.
Your license picture
New Hampshire has operated under the Nurse Licensure Compact since January 2018. FIU's MSN and DNP admissions ask for a current Florida RN license and say nothing about multistate licenses from other states, while the RN to BSN/MSN accepts one; our Florida RN license guide sets out the difference. New Hampshire has not signed on to the APRN Compact, so NP licensure after graduation means a fresh application wherever you plan to work.

Does New Hampshire require notice for FIU nursing clinicals?
The six-week notice and filing process in Nur 602.15(j) is written for visiting prelicensure programs, and OPLC places RN-BSN and RN-MSN programs beyond the Board's regulation. Ask the Board how it treats a graduate NP rotation, and ask FIU whether it will place you in the state.
Can I use a Massachusetts clinic while living in New Hampshire?
Only if FIU agrees to a Massachusetts site, and that state's board rules would then govern the rotation. FIU's policy notes that where a clinical takes place can affect its authorization, so check both FIU and the Massachusetts board before you commit.
Does FIU's MSN meet New Hampshire's NP licensure requirements?
FIU has not reached that determination. It speaks for Florida only and tells students seeking a license in another state to contact that state's licensing agency before starting, which here is the Board of Nursing through OPLC.
What is New Hampshire's NP practice environment?
AANP lists New Hampshire as full practice. For an FIU rotation, FIU's own preceptor standard matters just as much: at least a year in the field, active licensure, national certification and no family ties. Our preceptor requirements page covers the details.
