What follows you across state lines
Three FIU rules apply wherever you live. The MSN and DNP ask for a current Florida RN license before admission; online-track students identify their own clinical site, which may be outside FIU's four South Florida counties; and no rotation starts before FIU's contract with the site is in place.
FIU's licensure disclosure says its programs meet Florida's requirements and that FIU has not determined whether they meet other states'. FIU does not say whether online-track clinicals may be in another state, so ask the Office of Clinical Education before you search there. If you move, read learner location and moving and report it to FIU.

Questions FIU students ask
Can I do FIU's online NP program from another state?
FIU asks for a current Florida RN license before admission and says its programs meet Florida's licensing requirements; it has not determined whether they meet other states'. Ask FIU's graduate nursing team and your state's board of nursing before you apply.
Does FIU publish a state-by-state licensure table for nursing?
No. Its professional licensure page lists the BSN, MSN and DNP Nurse Anesthesia as meeting Florida's requirements and says FIU has not determined whether they meet the requirements in other states.
Is FIU part of SARA?
Yes. FIU participates in NC-SARA through the SREB compact and says it is individually approved to offer online programs in California. SARA does not settle professional licensing questions.
